WHITE FILLING

White fillings is also called composite filling. They are beautiful, strong  and functional.

Composite fillings can be used on any tooth, even front teeth.

HOW IS A CAVITY FILLED?

The dentist asks if you like local anaesthetic medication to cause numbness so you will feel no pain. The filling procedure takes about 30 to 45 minutes.

WHAT IS THE CAUSE OF A TOOTH CAVITY?

A tooth cavity is caused by tooth plaque on the surface of a tooth. The plaque contains bacteria that produce acid that cause a tooth cavity. It is called tooth decay or caries.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERNCE BETWEEN A WHITE FILLING AND AMALGAM?

Cavities used to be filled with amalgam. Amalgam contains metals and mercury which is a health risk. The grey silver color often  becomes black in time.
